Providing mental health training and tools for the well-being of firefighters and their families.
RECOVER
Initiative: Overview
01 Mindfulness training
Through a partnership with the David Lynch Foundation’s Center for Resilience, we are providing Mindfulness Training to firefighters & their families. Together, we help them prepare for and handle the stresses of their life-saving profession.
02 Peer Support
By connecting first responders with peers who understand what each other are going through, we ensure that they have the physical and emotional tools and support network needed to succeed and thrive.
03 Counseling
Through a partnership with One805 (our sister organization from Santa Barbara County), we are supporting efforts that enable firefighters and their families to quickly access counseling.
04 Nature Therapy
We support programs that train first responders in Nature-based therapies that promote the holistic recovery of mind, body, and spirit from trauma. Time in nature, surf, tree planting and seed gathering are just a few examples.
